TUMAINI GOSPEL MINISTRIES

Tumaini Gospel Ministries is growing and developing. We will update our partners from time to time about new developments and opportunities you can participate with us.

MAY UPDATE

Our visit to Kenya in April this year was fact finding about Tumaini Ministries’goal to help Kenya’s orphans. We found enormous need.  Kenya has 1.5 million orphans in need of help. The task is staggering and challenging. Tumaini wants to contribute to the solution. We came back resolved to continue in our commitment to help orphans find help in the Son.

OUR SIGNS OF HOPE

We set out goals we wanted to achieve. We have not yet achieved all of our goals, but we are delighted to celebrate the achievements we have made, however small. These small achievements are signs of hope.

Beneficiary Children: Newton Kisaka and Mercy Musungu can now advance in their education, thanks to our partners. Kisaka is in High School at Sipala Secondary School. Mercy Musungu is taking a diploma course in Nursing at Maseno University, Kenya.

Tumaini’s site: At Soy on the way to Kitale and Eldoret a piece of land has been identified to build a future Home for the orphans. Our financial partner has given seed money for purchasing the land.

Our WebsiteTumaini Website is up and running. One of our partners has contributed to Tumaini by paying and developing our Website.  We are so grateful to God for such partners who God touches to touch the orphans of Kenya through this medium of communication. God bless the work of his hands.  You can visit our Website at www.Tumainikids.org

Our Contact Group: The pictures on the Website are a contribution of Mr. Kidiiga and a group from Kongoni and Nangili near Soy. The Contact Group is a group of people on the ground helping us with identification and documentation of orphans. The pictures on the Website show orphans in a line with plates or bowls waiting for a portion of corn mixed with beans for their lunch. Mr. Albert Kidiiga is coordinating the Contact Group. As a former banker and professional accountant, he is our chief accountant for Tumaini Gospel Ministries. We are so grateful to God that Mr. Kidiiga has volunteered to serve Tumaini this way.

Tumaini Ministry: In October Rose and I were privileged to participate in two Weekend Ministries in Wisconsin and Ohio. The first Weekend of October we were at our former pastorate at Valton Friends Church in Wisconsin. We ministered and shared our passion for Kenya’s orphans. The weekend of October 11 we participated in the Taste of Missions at our Church, Orange Friends Church, Lewis Center, Ohio. Seven Area Churches came together with the vision of mission; local and global.

OUR PLANS

The Lord providing, we plan to visit Kenya in the summer of 2011 to hopefully begin the work of construction of Tumaini Home. The year 2010 will be for fundraising for the project.

We are available for weekend ministry. Invite us to your church. We would love to speak to your Home Group, Midweek Service, Bible Study, or Fellowship. Give us a chance to share with you our passion for Kenya’s orphans.
